- The Student Scheduling System enables you to efficiently schedule your
- students into year, semester, and term courses for an entire school year at
- one time. Initially, you record student course selections and print a set of
- reports that includes course lists, tallies, and conflict matrices. Then,
- depending on the complexity of your course offerings and the available
- resources (i.e. rooms, teachers), you use either the Course Master Schedule
- Builder, or the tally and conflict matrix reports to determine the number of
- sections and the best meeting times for your courses. Once the Course Master
- Schedule is built, you use the scheduler to automatically schedule your
- students in an optimal fashion (i.e. balancing enrollments, balancing
- semester courses within the same departments). When you're satisfied with
- your students' schedules, you use the computer to automatically schedule any
- students with free time into study halls. Finally, you produce a set of
- scheduling documents, including a complete master schedule, student schedules,
- teacher and room schedules, and class and study hall lists. The Course Master
- Schedule Builder (CMB) is an interactive, three-dimensional course master
- schedule generator. With the CMB, you place courses and schedule students in
- the order/priority you desire. For each course, the CMB displays a set of
- matrices showing the number of students requesting the course who are free
- each period of each day of each term. These matrices make it easy to
- determine the optimal meeting times for the course (i.e. the periods, days,
- and terms that the most students are free). Once the meeting times and a
- teacher and room are assigned (teacher/room conflicts are immediately
- flagged), the CMB automatically schedules all students requesting the course.
- Using the CMB removes the guessing game syndrome from the scheduling process
- while keeping the control you need in the course placement/scheduling process.
